After the Khmer Rouge nearly ended the centuries-old artform of Cambodian classical dance, masters in Cambodia and Southern California have done decades of work to revive and preserve the tradition. Modern Apsara Company aims to keep the artform alive in Southern California by innovating the practice and making it accessible to younger generations. Founder and director Mea Lath discusses her own journey finding Cambodian classical dance as a Cambodian American and the work she and her teachers have done to keep the tradition alive.
